If you have reached this site in your search for a coven to join or to teach you you have definitely come to the right place. The Coven is a true pagan community where people come together to learn, share, develop their spiritual path and take part in esbats and Sabbats with others that form this diverse group.

To find out more about The Coven, rummage around this site, join our forums, call the shop or pop in & have a 'brew' and chat. We're a friendly bunch and welcoming to all. If you need a traditional coven, then contact us and we'll try to help locate one for you.

The Greener World Café (at The Coven, Wigan)

Is it just us or is something very remarkable happening?

The financial crisis has led to a partial breakdown of many established power structures across the globe. These structures have been largely responsible for the ‘carbon culture’ which has locked us into unsustainable lifestyles driven by the political/economic need for ‘growth’, seemingly at all costs. At the same time politicians are sticking their necks out and declaring Climate Change to be just as important as the global recession. Could you imagine that happening even a year ago? A new consensus at last appears to be emerging that we need to move to more sustainable living. For the optimists this is a real opportunity to bring about some very fundamental and deep-rooted changes. For the cynics, perhaps, economics will continue to win the day. As realists we think we have to do everything we can to try to bring about the right outcome.

The Coven Library - Update 580+ books

After furthe rgenerous donations from the pagan community and investment by The Coven, the library has reached over 580 books and rising daily.  The range of books is astounding with something of value for everyone - including increasing numbers of rare & sought-after texts. If you have any books you'd like to dust off and offer to the Library - let us know - we can even collect! If you want to find out what we have in the collection so far click here to browse or click here to search

Reading is a key part of many people's personal & spiritual development. The trouble is that buying lots of books is expensive and you may also not read books based on their title/blurb alone - some of these books could be the best!

The Library is based in The Coven cafe - and a membership scheme is being developed.
