When deciding to have a cafe in The Coven we wanted to make sure that it met the highest standards expected of the eco-friendly ethos of a pagan venue.

Our guiding principles therefore include:

• To use locally sourced ingredients wherever available.
• If locally produced, to use organic ingredients. We will not buy organic ingredients if they have been shipped long distances.
• Where we have to use ingredients from overseas, we will endeavour to source fairtrade products over alternatives.
• If fair trade organic products are available these will be selected in preference to non-organic.

Other factors with define our menu include:

• All meals will be prepared in The Coven's kitchen and will not use pre-mixed/made ingredients.
• Cakes & pastries sold are to be baked in The Coven - only then can we be sure of their vegetarian credentials

Our vegetarian meals often include dairy and egg products but we always have vegan options and can make other dishes to order.
