The Coven are pleased to announce the arrival of evening dining. After four years of badgering from our customers we've finally got there. From September 1st we'll be hosting Gourmet Evenings on Thursdays with bookings from 7:30pm.

For evening dining we'll be dressing the tables with cloths, candles and, of course cutlery :-) - no waiting for Colin to remember to bring tools over! We'll have a very special menu that, we hope, delivers the best veggie & vegan food in the area. Most dishes will also be wheat & gluten free. Once a month we'll have a meat & fish option on the menu for those with frends or partners that can't go 'without'!

All menu items will be gourmet quality and every week we will have a 'core' menu plus a range of theme night dishes - see current choices below!
(all evenings are veggie, vegan and wheatfree by default unless stated - we expect to have a 'Raw' Vegan option on every evening)

The Coven is known for its informal atmosphere where conversations between strangers are common and friendships form. We see no reason why the evening events shouldn't be the same so expect to share a table. If you're a couple and would like a table to yourselves, then book early for one of our two 2-seater tables. If you're single and worried about 'dining alone' - don't no-one ever dines alone in The Coven (if, however, you are annoying we reserve the right, on behalf of the rest of your diners, to tell you to shut up ;-) Groups of four will get a table to themselves.
Eating out is an event and, as such, you should dress for an event. Put a bit of glamour into all our lives and make an effort to dress up! Anyone arriving in a tracksuit or trainers will be escorted to the nearest gym or given a 'Jeremy Kyle' application form!
We don't yet have an alcohol licence - so bring your own. If you also bring some of your favourite spirits we can make up some fantastic frozen cocktails or irish teas & coffees.
£25/person fixed price for five+ courses.
For those of you used to Maria's massive lunchtime portions, she's promised me that each course will be 'balanced' and of a more manageble size so you can get to try more! Your seat is yours for the entire evening - there's no rush.
Call The Coven on 01942 237801 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to book your table - remember places are limited to sixteen covers a night so book early! We will maintain a reserve list for evenings that are fully booked.
The Coven is in Wigan town centre with the bus and rail stations only minutes away. We also have free on-street parking just by us after 6:30pm.
We are able to take wheelchair users - please let us know so we can set a place without a chair if necessary. Sorry, but we do not have a toilet with wheelchair access.
